what is a grade horse? I was trying to breed a thoroughbred and I got a grade horse??

Re: grade horse
Your foal's parents are Akhal-Teke x Galloway and North African Barb x Arabian. So technically, your foal is equal parts of all of these four breeds. Grade horse just means that comparatively, none of these breeds "wins out", he has an equal amount of blood from all of these breeds.jadess wrote:what is a grade horse? Re: grade horse
I ran into the same problem. I bred two horses and got a grade instead of a thoroughbred. :p Is the foal I got technically a thoroughbred, due to the pedigree? I don't know if I could later breed him with other horses to try and help develop a breed, or if every foal would be part grade or half whatever the other parent is. He's got spot-on breeding to make him a thoroughbred.

Re: grade horse
- You can't use Grade horse instead of any other breed. If the breeding recipe states Thoroughbred you can only use purebred, mixed, half or part TB.
You also can't breed part grade horse. If you breed grade horse with any other breed the dominant breed will be stated - for example Half Andalusian.

Re: grade horse
Can you breed a grade horse back to a recognised breed? Say by successive crossings to an arabian, eventually you would get a pure arab again?

Re: grade horse
Considering a grade horse may be bred for color rather than for breed, I'd suggest the rarest color for a grade horse is probably the most difficult colors to breed, such as double pearl, because pearl is recessive and even not evident with some color combinations.bueskm20 wrote:What's the rarest color for a grade horse?
