COVID-19 Chat
So, I am pretty sure that we all know about the Corona virus. If you don't, I'll explain. Basically its a virus that has spread worldwide and became a pandemic. It has infected all 50 states of the US, New York, having the most confirmed cases. I am from a smaller state, Iowa, where there hasn't been as much as of now. We ( Iowans) have 235 cases as of now, and 3 deaths. Thats a really small number compared to New York. They have 39,140 cases and 466 deaths. Prayers if you live in New York!
So, if you want to express your feelings on it, here's the place!

Re: COVID-19 Chat
I'm right outside of Seattle. We used to be worse than NY, but it seems that our social distancing is working and helping to flatten the curve. It also helps that we have a lower population density.
Even so, I've been in my apartment since early February. Only been out a few times to buy food and other essentials. I have cabin fever so bad. It sucks. But I'll continue to willingly stay inside as long as it helps slow the spread, even though it means missing out on my ponies. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home (nevermind still having a job) so I honestly can't really complain.
My mare was supposed to have a vet appointment last Monday to do a pre-breeding workup to see about sending her off to meet with a stallion but the vet had to reschedule the appointment. We won't get the workup done until mid-April at the earliest, and it's looking more like late May or early June. On the bright side, if my mare doesn't get bred until June (if she gets bred at all) I'll be looking at the possibility of a birthday baby since my birthday is in May.
I've been using HWO as a way to de-stress, but in doing so have had to put my contests and other services on hold because they really don't help with my stress level. Which sucks, but I need to keep myself sane.

I live a few hours out from Lubbock and Amarillo Texas, though I live in New Mexico. The fist comforted case just reached our county. It’s honestly pretty scary, and my school just got canceled for the rest of the year.

Re: COVID-19 Chat
My school is canceled until April 27 (probably longer) and riding lessons are canceled

Re: COVID-19 Chat
Out of the family that I live with (my parents, all of my siblings have married and moved out of the house) I'm probably the most effected. No school until April 6th IF my state doesn't decide to cancel school for the rest of the year, no track until April 6th IF my state doesn't decide to cancel it for the rest of the year, no Wednesday night Youth Group, no actually going to church on Sunday, and no ice skating lessons on Saturday.

Re: COVID-19 Chat
which leaves me with not a lot to do. The week of March 23rd was my school's actual planned Spring Break

Well, now Iowa has 336 cases. It just keeps spreading. We have had one more death which makes it 4. It may not seem like much, but thats what all the states said. I hope ya'll are doing fine and staying safe.

Re: COVID-19 Chat
I just heard that my state's governor is extending the closing of the schools from April 6th to May 1st

Re: COVID-19 Chat
Well over here in New Zealand we have a mini population and every day we are going up around 80 cases every day and as of yesterday ( we don't know about today yet), there were 583 cases with one death. Our schools shut at the same time as our holidays were brought forward so now I'm getting very bored and we are only 6 days through the 4+ weeks.

it's so boring cause I have like nothing to do. I can still ride though because I live on a farm which is great, so I've been spending a lot of time with my horse and I've been spending a lot of time on HWO. I can't wait until this is over so that I can finally go somewhere

We have two mares expecting foals soon so that will be exciting and also give me something to do! (one is due in early May and the other is due in a couple weeks!)
