Initial Number of Horses & Breeding Question
Hi!
New around here - but certainly not to breeding games in general.
Now, then - I was actually wondering about a couple of things.
1) How many horses should a new player start out with? (in terms of costs and income)
2) I have a long breeding project. It will require many, many West African Barbs and a fair number of North Africans, Sorraia, among others, if I want a wider genetic base. I am wondering if it would best to breed "genetically better" purebred NABs, then start breeding for WABs, or just start crossbreeding right off the bat?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Initial Number of Horses & Breeding Question
1. It depends.
2. It depends.
I'm sorry to be so vague, but it really does. I can share my style though, for reference. I started crossbreeding first. I won't bother with breeding for traits until I get further down the line. As such, I only have as many horses as necessary to make sure I can produce the next breed in the process. I know Bita started off with breeding for traits, for comparison.

Re: Initial Number of Horses & Breeding Question
1. You do not have to pay "upkeep" on the horses that you have but will have to upgrade yourself/farm to how many horses you can have. The training to handle more horses would be the only cost that you would incur from getting more horses.
2. I did the same as Argent. I just started crossbreeding but will focus on getting better bloodlines when I get to the breeds that I am going for.

Re: Initial Number of Horses & Breeding Question
Ah, thank you for the info!
I suppose I shall start working on crossbreeding, then. Because that is just too exciting! Heh.
Ah, yeah, I'm cognizant of the Learning Courses required for breeding/expansion/training. Worth the cost, IMHO.

Re: Initial Number of Horses & Breeding Question
iirc, a cost per head may be added to the game, but for now owning horses has no fee attached
