Re: I got hacked
Aside from the potential hacking, you need to also consider if any of your horses were up for sale before you took your hiatus.2094646 wrote:I’ve been off of HWO for a while, but now that I’m back most of my horses are gone. I only care about one of them really, a white Anglo Arab named Short circuit echo who was bought by Liszzybean 20, I don’t even know what to do. Any suggestions?
For the horse you're looking to get back, you can ping the other player and see if they are willing to sell them back to you. Most of us are willing to return horses in certain cases. Remember a no is a no and asking will get you further than demanding. Of course, sweetening the pot with extra cash or a similar replacement horse can also help.
Now for the potential hacking. If indeed things are different from what you left them as, and NOBODY has your log-in information, then you'll need to assume that maybe you did get hacked. So change your password.
There's not much you can do in this instance and also not much admin can do, once a horse is sold, it belongs to the new owner. However, if you have proof that another person (especially on HWO) did hack you, contact our admins and leave it in their hands, and don't forget to forward the proof to them. I'd suggest you do so with the Help Me button, rather than over the forums. But proof is more than just words... that's the stickler.
Remember to practice safe internet habits. This is the first and foremost way to prevent hacking. These include but are NOT restricted to, NEVER sharing your password; NEVER logging into an account on a public access (regardless of if it's your own personal laptop or phone), and if you do, ALWAYS make sure you log out before leaving that public access; keep an eye out for siblings and other family members, we've had a few mischievous siblings sell and buy random horses on accounts.
Let us know if you need some additional aid. The HWO community is here.

As you can see from the original post I got hacked and was wondering if you could please return short circuit echo, he means a lot to me. The rest of my horses were rehomed with the exception of three of them.

Re: I got hacked
I posted him. I am fairly certain that it is the right horse because he matches the description, but if not, let me know. I changed the name but kept the brand. I am so sorry for your trouble! I just saw this post. Thank you for letting me know thundermare!
