How’s the market Looking for...

Post by RoyalCrownAcres »

I was wondering how competitive sales are for a couple of things and how high prices are driving. The list is as follows:

How high is the demand for:
Gypsy Vanners
Dressage horses
Trained horses
Grinders
Training services
Well bred Shires

How high is/are.... selling for?
Gypsy Vanners
Dressage horses
Trained horses/grinders
Well bred Shires
Training services
Nice studs
Uniquely colored horses

More things will be added as I think of them

I can't comment on too many of these, but I do have some insight into some of them.
Training services - Very High! Bulk, singular, newbie, there's a lot looking for training right now and prices vary by desire. There's also a lot looking to become private clients or to hire private trainers. Depending on who your chosen clientele might be and your prices, by relieving one area, it will help to relieve the other areas on the current trainers. Right now, likely the highest demand is bulk and then newbie.

There are a couple players that have been looking for good dressage horses. So that demand has been climbing recently. Although I can't comment on price on these. From what I remember, the clientele may be in the lower price area as well as in the upper tier price area. So having horses that can fit both bills could be advantageous.

I have no information about vanners or shires.

Grinders do appear to not have a high demand recently. Though I haven't tested the market in the past month, there does seem to be enough of the average grinder to go around. However, a great or excellent grinder will still find a market, IF the ad is offered with enough information and proof to that end.

As far as studs and unique colors. A good stud is always in demand, but the quality must be right and fit the bill. As always, having a good or complete competition record helps and so does tested offspring (competed). Colors too, will always have a place in the market, but just color studs are appearing to become much more regular, so any new stock will need to start having an additional standout.

My opinions on these things. Not sure if this is what you wanted from your forum posting but im giving it a wing xD

How high is the demand for:
Gypsy Vanners - I see them everywhere and crosses too. I used to breed them but since then they don't interest me much.
Dressage horses - I breed them and have a collection of horses. Pretty much any comp horse ill always be interested in as long its good competing.
Trained horses - I also look for trained horses to either buy for myself to either compete or to use as a grinder. I also buy them if they are cheap to use them as contest or giveaway prizes. Its a win win.
Grinders - Also need them. I make bank using them to get PT plus to turn days and regen them faster then i can use them
Training services - I have a training form and it seems in high demand. I also use other people to train my personal horses if i just dont have time for them.
Well bred Shires - Never got into breeding them. I did try to breed them but got tired of thier looks after a week and sold them all. Not interested in them at all XD

How high is/are.... selling for?
Gypsy Vanners - Depending on BR, color and conformation I would offer from between 2k-50k or more if trained or has good comp background etc.
Dressage horses - Depending on the breed almost the same above ^^^
Trained horses/grinders - Trained horses i will sell between 25k-65k depending what the person is looking for. Grinders i normally sell between 65k-100k thats a guarantee they hit 1st place in lvl 10 local comp each time.
Well bred Shires - Not interested in them but based of public sales there is only one. So i would they they would be more expensive like 25k-150k? possibly.
Training services - I train so i will train 2 horses at a time for 25k each or 6 horses at a time for 50k each. I've seen several training services. They range from 15k to 1 million. So depending what type of training and etc you want it varies.
Nice studs - This is very opinionated.... You can get one for as low as 500 and others ive paid up to 1 million for.
Uniquely colored horses - To buy i will pay up to 25 million untrained depending on the BR, color and confo of the horse.
