"Not Eating Enough"?

So I have a stallion who has a hard time keeping weight on, and I recently got the notification of "Is not eating enough" to put on weight. Is there a fix for this or do I just keep waiting and turning it so that he gains weight naturally. I haven't been training him for 3-4 turns because I want his weight to go up. I'm a new player, so please let me know. :) Thanks.

His weight will go up eventually, but being thin has no effect right now, so you don't have to worry about it
