Training tips?

Post by Sawd10 »

Hello. I have a question:
I don't know if I will open a training Service (I may) But I would really like to know some Training tips.. I don't really have a good idea of what stat to start training? Also, when doing training skills (such as Movement Training) What is the minimum that you think I should have before training others horses? (If I ever do). Nextly, is there any tips on what stat is the HARDEST to train them in? Oh, yeah.. Could anyone tell me the feed used to make them High Strung, Spirited, even-tempered, calm, etc? Any other tips help, too!

I can but I should tell you that you forgot the _ in between Shadow and Hills. Looks like this: Shadow_Hills Luckily I decided to look.

With your courses: try to complete your energy saving courses and stamina training courses to allow you to do more with the horse and to get the stamina training to go faster. Then Training Techniques and Advanced Training. Then any courses that you can complete that take under an hour to complete. Then the movement courses. Whatever else you decide to take afterwards, is up to you.

With training the horse: do lunge on the flat at a walk in the arena until you are able to do collection and impulsion at a walk in the arena for 30 minutes. Continue the collection and impulsion until you get the stamina and intelligence maxed out (max of stamina is usually 99.8%). Then switch to jumping obstacles, at a walk in the arena, to get the strength and agility to however high you want it to go. Then switch to ground poles, at a walk in the arena, to get the tempo and movement to however high you want it to go. Finally, switch back to lunge on the flat but at a gallop on a track to get the speed to however high you want it to go. This works really well for me. The movement and the speed training is what takes the longest to do, at least for me.

You should try to finish all of your speed and stamina courses first. After that I’d recommend strength courses and agility. After that it really depends on how you train to determine what courses you’ll have to do next.

You should do some practice horses for a while to make sure your skills are high enough, and you’ll really only get a lot of customers if you can train in 3 years or under usually.

After that it’s really just figuring out what system you want to go with while training your horses. I learned a good system from vallers a while ago that’s supposed to be super fast, but I also don’t have all my courses done, so it still takes around 3 years.

Training courses and everything are very expensive, but if you plan on training a lot of horses then I think it’ll pay off in the end.

Also about the feed thing. I usually use yellow corn to make horses high strung, but some people use sweet feed. Basically if your horse is capable of being high strung, then feed it as much sugar as possible and it’ll highten the horses temperament. Feed your horse more fiber and it should lower the horses temperament.

So for example; you have a horse that was born calm and now it’s bombproof. You want to bring that horse back to calm, so you give it feed with more sugar. If you accidentally feed it too much sugar for too long and it becomes high strung, just feed it more fiber and it’ll go back to calm. You just have to watch pretty closely.

One thing about temperament though, is that not all horses are capable of being high strung. Some horses just don’t have it in their genetics, but it is possible to breed it into your herd.

Ok, Thanks so much! Very descriptive haha. For the first thing (do lunge on the flat at a walk) Do I do it for just 5 minutes? Oh, and sorry for pinging you twice! HAha.

Alright, Thanks!! It's helping meh; I don't have much knowledge on training.

It’s no problem! Just start out the courses with all of the fast ones, and then just go in order. Training can be difficult, but it’s actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

I'll answer this question directly.

Always do for as long as you can. The longer you can do so, the better stat gain it is. Such as the same session at 5 minutes, 6 times (to equal a 30 minute session) will actually have less stat gain then if you just do the 30 minute session. I haven't yet seen any session set that proves this wrong, so longer time is always better.

If somebody has some different experience, I'd like to hear it so I can also give it a try.

For that, just do it as long as you are able to. With most horses, you have to do 20 mins. and then you can do 5 mins. afterwards and eventually you should be able to do it for a full 30 mins. I occasionally check every now and then to see if the horse can move onto the collection and impulsion for 30 mins. but that usually doesn't happen until after the horse is able to lunge on the flat for a full 30 mins.
