Horse won't quit gaining weight...
Sooooo, I'm at a loss as to what to do with this horse, lol. Usually when I move my yearlings over from the pasture to the barn, I only have to put them a little below in feed to get them to the correct weight. This horse is eating NOTHING and is literally gaining weight. What on earth is going on???
Help!

Re: Horse won't quit gaining weight...
A growing horse will continue to gain weight naturally on this game, but... depending on how long you've had him in the barn (how many turns it's been), there's a chance that he's a weight-bugged horse. Every once in awhile one of these show up that when they're fully grown (and even during growth), they won't gain or loose weight, no matter what they're fed or where they're kept.Purple Lightning wrote:Sooooo, I'm at a loss as to what to do with this horse, lol. It does not appear to be linked in bloodlines, so you don't need to worry about passing it on.
Take off all his food and see if that changes his weight. If it does, he's not bugged, if it doesn't, then he's bugged. If he is bugged, then there's nothing you can do.
Keep in mind that horses will gain and loose weight differently, some are easier keepers then others. Some will readily move from one weight limit to another, while another will be a little slower. It's not much of a difference, but enough to notice. In my barn, if I starve them for a day, most will drop a weight limit (from moderate to moderately thin) and it's the same if I am able to feed them 200% of their daily. Of course size also has a lot to do with it, and eating ability, and probably also the horse's daily nutrition requirements...

Good Luck!

Re: Horse won't quit gaining weight...
Okay, that makes me feel a little better - I was beginning to think I was losing my mind, ha! I "starved" him for several turns the other day and every single turn, he gained three pounds. Sooooo, I guess it's just time to give up and let him eat what he wants, lol! I guess I need to try entering him in something that requires a bulky horse.BlackOak2 wrote:A growing horse will continue to gain weight naturally on this game, but... depending on how long you've had him in the barn (how many turns it's been), there's a chance that he's a weight-bugged horse.
