What you're seeing happening is from the leopard complex gene. It causes lightening in some areas and darkening in some areas and also graying out in some areas.lilykryder wrote:Please Help! Most horses I'm able to figure out but this is too much!

Your mare is a buckskin with leopard complex and tiger eye. There does appear to be a dun mask, but without additional pictures (including parent pictures), especially as foals and as yearlings, I can't be sure about that gene. Your mare has a yearling picture, but no foal picture. Without the foal picture, I can't be sure that the mask I see isn't from leopard complex, which on certain colors can also appear to be a dun mask.
