Steel Dun (Grullo) Forest Horses
So I've been breeding Forest Horses to help create and support the Andravida breed that I breed on my main account (StellaSim). In the process I've come across a color that I think is pretty cool. Its mostly likely a form of Grullo, but I've been calling it a steel dun (examples below). If anyone has any similar horses and is interesting in breeding them, please let me know!

Re: Steel Dun (Grullo) Forest Horses
They all are indeed Dun and I'm fairly sure brown as well, it is a bit hard to see in the adult coats, but the foal pictures show the Base Color is definitly not black. The 'warm' areas (red/brown nose, belly) always indicate Brown, if they are yellowish it's most likely cream - or it faded/sandy and you can see a lightened ring around eyes and the nose its pangareGraya wrote:.

I do like this 'steel' color from the dun gene a lot and bred them for a while, so I can assure you that brown is a fairly common base in forests, and the dun is pretty easy to recognize in the ac horses, so it shouldn't be too hard getting your Steel Forests up in number.
Training them also gives the dun a more metallic look (like {Rusty} Crimson Creation), but if you really want to get the gene for it into your forests you would have to cross in turkmenes and the carrier foals back to pure forests. keep in mind though that metallic is a dominant gene, so it will be a bit of work to keep it in your lines (I possess a metallic grullo turkmene, so I could put him up if you are interested in trying

Hope this helped a bit

Thank you so much for the info! I'm not sure if I wanna add the metallic in or just let it be dun at the moment, but I'll let you know!
