Some Kind of Dun

Post by Diskid »

I have a 95% Tarpan filly that has a little more color than what I'm used to and I'm not quite sure what kind of dun to classify her as.

She is buckskin dun (or dunskin) with lace blanket (double Lp) and a small tobiano mark (Lp and tobiano would make her pintaloosa in my book, but I haven't seen this term used much around here). But I wonder if she also has roan - her body looks a bit too light from dun alone, her grandsire is marked as roan and sire looks just as possibly roan as she does.

I agree with Tjigra, on both the color and also it does appear this foal has roan as well, although it's a bit difficult to tell the salt and pepper without a closer look (zoom didn't bring it in enough for me to say one way or another).
