help, can't send private messages

I have an upgraded with pony tokens account and I've had my account since June but when I try to send a msg I get this
"We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature. "

This needs to be directed to our admins. You can send this over to the bugs forum, forward them an email in the contact us section (link is down at the bottom of the page), or ping them.

However, keep in mind that only other upgraded accounts can receive and read private messages.

As far as I know you need to have more posts in the forums before being able to chat.When they stop approving your forums (about 5 I think) you'll be able to use private messages and chat room

if that is the case that is something that really should be in writing somewhere that is easy to find.
