Really strange color

Post by meganamber »

At first I thought she was perlino, but she's really light for one. Also her legs have been drastically getting lighter... could someone help me out? :) Thanks!

She definitely has mealy going on, hence why her legs/underbelly/muzzle is lighter than the rest of her body.
Color wise, I'm honestly unsure. I want to say Cream Champagne? But I'm probably wrong lol. But mealy is the cause for her lighter regions :)

Definitely agreeing with what Zebracat is saying.

It appears to be champagne with what looks like double cream with probably silver as well. But what base it's on... I can't tell. My guess would be a bay, because bays generally offer a slightly more golden tinge when paired with champagne and cream. However, as much could be said for chestnut.

She is most likely black based. The mealy pattern would then be caused by silver (which can make a silver dapple have mealy-like pattern, like the image below). Champagne and one cream are also present (pale freckles around the muzzle with dark eyes means one cream and not a double cream or cream+pearl). In other words she would be a Silver Classic Cream.

Her parents are both brown based with champagne, silver and one cream: Silver Sable Cream.

Example of mealy-like pattern in a sivler dapple horse:
