Chrome?

Most of my Black Forest Horses carry a gene which has them turn a complete silver-chrome colour around 9 years of age, seemingly regardless of their colour as foals. What is this called? I've got an example down below.

This is caused by the graying gene.

This mare is a gray over bay dun pangare with a blanket.
The gray gene is dominant, which means that you only need one for the graying to express on a horse. If you have it in 'most' of your herd, there's a better chance of having multiple horses with two gray genes, which means they will always throw a graying offspring.
