Bay, Roan, Chestnut, Oh My!
So I thought this fully was a unique shade of chestnut when she was born, but when she turned a year she looked more like a bay. Now that she getting older she looks more like a roan. Can anyone explain the genes behind this? It would very much appreciated. I’m horrible with colors and can only tell simple ones!

And she got the varnish from her dam i think - the mane Looks slighty faded and it could explain the rather pale/heavy seeming shade of dunBaranduin Brewster wrote:She is a bay dun, roaning would appear with white hairs interspaced with bayRosecreekstables wrote:So I thought this fully was a unique shade of chestnut when she was born, but when she turned a year she looked more like a bay.
