Curious

Post by Woodstock »

I am curious as to how people determine what horses to buy, sell, keep or breed.
I might also be putting some of my stallions up for stud for the first time or just for a lower price so if your looking for something right now, I can see if I have one that fits your requirements and put him up for you and others to enjoy.

For me I tend to sell horses that don't have any use to my breeding programs or wont have any competitive value.
I only really buy a horse if they are used to breed Persian Arabians, Pahlavan, or Plateau Persians and even at that if they are between 3-5 stars for the breed.
I only keep horses for breeding and competitive purposes, if they cant be used for one (or both) of these then they are being sold or rehomed.

I tend to buy interesting horses that can further my breeding programs, I don't look at the eval score unless I'm trying to create a breed from scratch. As far as what breeds I work with: micro anything, Russian breeds, Koniks, and a few other breeds on the sides.

Usually the horses I will keep will either have good stats or good/unique colors and/or patterns. Many horses that I sell are 10 or older because I try to keep my coi down or they are foals that may be valuable to other players but aren’t to me. Any horses I breed are because I think their offspring will help progress my farm. Horses for Stud are usually stallions that I’m not breeding or have very good bloodlines that I don’t mind sharing, because then the fee can be higher.
