Wanted: Primitive Studs
I am currently about to have my generation of pure Java mares and I am looking for stallions that are coarser to take out the Arabic look. Specifically Java ponies are quite similar to Mongolian and Przewalski. I'm going for an almost donkey- or mule-like look with block heads, stocky bodies, and lots of primitive dun and mealy/pangare. Since I'm not quite ready, I'm specifically interested in young studs or studs in storage. Obviously the higher the HGP and closer to Java breed standard, the better.

I do have some Koniks that might fit the bill, though I will not sell them, I would be willing to arrange a few private studdings. I do rotate my stock out frequently, so my selection will periodically changeKingsley wrote:I am currently about to have my generation of pure Java mares and I am looking for stallions that are coarser to take out the Arabic look. I also have some bi colored manes (which I'm working on getting in a Fjord line), they currently look like:

Re: Wanted: Primitive Studs
Hi, I have one stud who might be good to you.
I've checked him against the Java book and everything is good except height.

Thank you so much for your interest. I'll definitely take a look at your Konik studs when I have my purebred mares available to breed. Also incredibly interested in the bicolor manes...what is the underlying genetic factor that causes them?

Re: Wanted: Primitive Studs
There is some debate going on about the underlying genetics in game of the bi-colored manes. I personally think it has to do with primitive markings (bay coats in RL can display primitive markings without being Duns) or possibly they are minimally marked Duns. All of my horses that display the bi-colored mane have Dun running heavily in their genes.Kingsley wrote:Thank you so much for your interest. The other arguments, is Silver, though I have bred tons of silver horses (in my search for Silver Dapple horses), so it is odd that this is the first time it shows up.
