That is, black color base, with two 2 cream genes and a champagne. Cause Vasyl has two creams.



Is he grey on smoky brown? Will he throw foals as beautiful as his half/full brothers and sisters?



Looks cute, no idea what he is. Just know that he's champagne, perhaps will grey but he literally "light grey"

Seems like the genes come from the sire

Quick point first - none of these horses carry pearl. I'll explain why at the bottom.

The first is silver brown cream roan going gray. She gets her pink skin and blue eyes from being double-cream.

The second is an amber cream going gray (with a single tiger eye gene). Bay + 1 cream + champagne under gray. The champagne is what causes her freckled skin on her nose and around her eyes. The cream causes the diluted colors on her body. The tiger eye causes her lighter eye color.

The third is the most difficult. He is definitely champagne (from his freckled muzzle) and definitely going gray. He appears to have the reddish areas on his flanks that we see in brown horses, though its hard to see on his light coat. He is lighter than he would be if he was sable cream, so I'm guessing he's double-cream. Silver explains the light mane and tail. So I would say he is a silver brown cream champagne going gray.

A note on the parents - your mare Vasyl is actually grey on smoky brown rather than grey on plain brown. Her warm areas are more yellow than red which indicates she has a cream gene. This is verified by her foals, two of which are double-creams. The sire is brown cream roan snowflake, which means he has Lp. The Lp is varnishing him out, making him look a bit like he is going gray. I don't see any evidence of the Lp on the babies as of yet, but it'll be something you want to keep an eye out for. Snowflakes usually pop up before the horse turns one year old, but they're harder to see on light coats especially when they aren't fully expressed.

None of these horses carry pearl. Why? Because pearl can not hide if cream is present. Pearl and cream are located at the same spot on the horse's chromosomes. That means you can have a horse that has no dilutions, a horse that has a single cream, a horse that has a single pearl, a horse that has one cream AND one pearl, a horse that has two creams, or a horse that has two pearls. What you can't have is a horse that has two creams and a pearl or a horse that has two pearls and a cream. The sire is double cream. This means he can not have a pearl because both allele spots are taken by cream alleles. The dam is single cream. This means she could have a pearl, but if she did it would affect her color and she would look a lot like a double-cream. Also, she would have to throw either a cream or a pearl to her foals. Two of her foals are double-cream, meaning she threw her cream. Her other foal is a single-cream. Since the sire is double-cream we know that the cream the foal has has to have come from the sire. If the mare was cream-pearl she would have had to give the foal a pearl, which the foal does not have. Therefore the mare does not have pearl.

AH, sorry about that! So yeah, everything above is still true but when I refer to sire I meant dam and dam I meant sire. So Vasyl is smoky brown under grey and your mare is brown cream roan snowflake.

First off, Vasyl actually only has one cream. He's grey on smoky brown.

This first one I believe is actually silver brown cream champagne. She's so light that it's nearly impossible to tell between the base colors at this point, so she could possibly be black. The only way to tell would be to breed her to pure-black stud and if she only throws black bases then I'd say she's black. But if she throws brown or bay you know that she's not black.

Second is grey on silver smoky brown. How his foals turn out will depend on what you breed him to.

The third looks like a gray. He is silver sable cream under that.
