Tutorial problems...

SO, I have only had this game for a few hours. I like it quite a bit but I am having issues getting past a quest.
This quest:
Tutorial: Adopt A Stallion
Visit the Adoption Center to adopt a stallion of any breed. Care for your new stallion the same way you did for your mare. Your stallion does not need to be of the same breed as your mare. If you accidentally adopted a stallion earlier then you'll need to adopt a mare now instead.

Objective: Adopt a stallion of any breed

My issue is that I had picked a stallion for my first horse when I got this quest I accidentally bought a colt because I didn't read the question carefully and saw buy a stallion, so I went back and bought a filly. (I saw their stats and were both at good prices so I didn't look further. When taking care of the filly didn't work I went back and bought a cheap well stated mare and took care of her and that didn't work either. Please help

It sounds like you bought rather than adopted from the adoption center.

I agree with Ricardo Ardo and Demon's Gate.
All horses from the Adoption Centre are 4 years. (That's breeding age for both sexes)
The tutorial is decently specific, so be sure to read what it says and go where it leads.
