Oh, she's pretty! Good luck on the varnish. I've had some that go almost brown and others that have stayed a nice palomino until death did we part. I'm glad my boys and girls could be of some help.QuesthavenFarms wrote:Finally! I got this colt and filly. I love the filly and hope she doesn't varnish. I want dark with big spots.
Big thanks to Dayaine's Inverted Line!!!!

It's all good! And he's already doing pretty well in some competitions! And he's got a fairly decent Breeding report! Has the same build as the dam with all the coloring from Inverted Bear! Ya he's one of my favorites too!! I'm sooo digging his height too! He's the tallest horse I have! lolDayaine wrote:Your colt is still one of my favorites. Although, I love him, I have to freely admit, he only throws good colts sometimes. That being said, I bred for color, so some of the mares I used weren't that great, so I probably shouldn't blame him so much. If I answer after this, it may be from my other account. I'm trying to breed up another line of fully bodied apps.Ms. Trouble Maker wrote:It's all good! And he's already doing pretty well in some competitions! And he's got a fairly decent Breeding report! XDAnd I will say nothing is worse than having a great horse that shows well and looks great and all the foals you get don't have the same performance level as your favorite horse. lol I'm still breeding with Inverted Bear...but I sooo hope Printed Admiral throws good foals like Bear.

Re: Figuring out the Appy patterns (updated)
I'm taking a break on this account, got all my mares out of foal. I need to do a little shuffling with my other account, then I'm going to work on snowflakes. I'm curious to see how dense I can get them. I have a few that have them pretty well all over but medium dense, and a few that have some pretty dense patches but not all over. I'm going to see if I can get them dense all over.

That's kinda awesome actually!
On another note, I think shetlands are the horse that has the other PATN gene. I've been breeding some pure shetlands for the coloring, and I've been seeing some spreading of the white. Not as good as the Caspian I lucked into, but it may have just been the horse.

Got my two first colts with more white today. Happy happy!

What do you call this white? I like to put the colurs on all my horses, and used to just write blanket or snowcap depending on size, but now that it's more than the bum I'm feeling a bit lost. Not many appys where I live
My snowflakes are coming along nicely, but they take some time to show up. More work needed :p

I'd go with (Extended) Blanket. Blanket as a color is defined as a white region over the hindquarters and hips that can extend over the back with darker spots, so they'd both qualify as blankets.Epiphany wrote:Got my two first colts with more white today. Happy happy!
