Bay Dun Blanket and Tobiano?

Post by Diskid »

I bred a colt thinking he was Tarpan x NAB and didn't realize he was "Part Tarpan", but I ended up getting an interesting color out of him. He's definitely bay dun, and he has some sort of blanket marking, but I'm curious with his tail and leg marking if he also carries tobiano. I looked back a bit in his parents pedigrees and didn't see anyone with tobiano. Anyway I'm interested as to his exact color and markings.

His Sires Dam carries the pinto pattern so, he quite possibly can produce ospring with the Pinto pattern or with socks

You're correct, Bay Dun with blanket and tobiano.
Barnduin lead you correctly, his To did come from is sire's side. So did his Leopard Complex.

It's likely that he'll throw only socks or other markings with non-marked mares, but with patterned mares (or other marked mares), there's a much bigger chance of throwing patterns, not just markings (leg socks and face blazes...). He has a 50/50 chance of throwing Lp around with an unmarked horse.
