Here's my writing I did a few years ago. It's a little dark, but hey...I'd been thinking through some hard times in history...Poseikip wrote:Best of luck!
Wandering Between the Worlds
By
MM ‘13
I fly from Japan to America,
I’ve seen 9/11,
I’ve seen the Boston Terrorist Attack.
I’ve seen * Germany,
I’ve seen Pearl Harbor.
I’ve been under the rubble of the Pentagon,
Hearing the cries of the wounded,
Seeing the people claw for the light coming through the cracks of the pavement above them as if searching for hope.
I’ve been on the sidelines of the Boston Marathon,
Hearing the screams of the children holding onto their parents,
Seeing the people rush to help the victims lying on the ground with wounds to terrible to speak of.
I’ve been in the filthy rat infested concentration camps of * Germany,
Hearing the moans of hunger and exhaustion as the Jews lie, 5 to a bed,
Seeing the once chubby cheeks of a girl now made hollow from starvation looking sadly at her mother slowly fading before her eyes.
I’ve been on the ships being blown to smithereens by torpedoes of the Japanese,
Hearing the warning sirens blare as the ships sink into the depths,
Seeing the men clawing for the surface,
Blocked by doors,
Staring up into the blue vastness of the ocean as it closes over them.
Each time, I see the same thing.
I see the pain of each death.
I see the last breathe, the last cry for help, the last whisper of life, the last gulp for air.
But each time, there comes the magical.
Then I see a silvery blue mist rise from each and every person,
It seems solid, yet not solid,
No body, yet a hand emerges.
I gently take that hand and guide the spirit on,
On to a mystical place,
A bright gold gate bigger than ever imagined,
Through the gate I can see a golden road, leading straight to a throne surrounded by magnificent angels singing, “Holy, Holy, Holy!” to a shining being sitting on the throne.
The gates open as I lead the spirit forward,
As the spirit crosses the thresh hold, it changes,
The hand becomes a body,
But not just any body,
A new body, better than the first,
Changed, with no disease, no illness, a perfect new body.
My job is now done,
As I turn away I feel a deep sadness,
I look one last time before I leave,
The man on the throne is looking at me with his all knowing, gentle eyes,
He says, “Your time will come, good and faithful servant”.
With a wave, I head back to Earth,
To the depths of the sea or a village in the Amazon, or to a Car on the side of the road,
It’s time to continue my calling.

Here's my entry, a freestyle. I feel like it's a poem, but your the judgePoseikip wrote:Ping

My lips udder the sweet sound of you name
The secret we keep as we gallop across a open field in the dawn of day
My hair blowing freely like your mane
The soothing sound of hoofbeats on the soft soil
Are breathing in sync
The freedom we feel
The chance we take
The promise we make
My sweet horse, I love you dear
I couldn't bear to see you pass
For the magic we share
Is powerful against the force of man

I'm not very good at poetry, but I thought I'd give it a go.
The wind whipping through my hair
The miles passing below me
The noise of plodding hooves
It is my favorite place
On top a thundering horse
The strides long and even
For today, I fly
---------------------------------------
Note: I wrote this for a friend:
--------------------------------------
You stand tall
With
Wisdom in your eyes
Courage in your heart
Laughter in your throat
Perseverance in your brain
And
The love of everyone around your
Coursing through your veins
---------------------------------------
I wish to see you
In the Flesh again
But it will not happen
We Forever miss you
We are decked out in Yellow
To Honor you
But Remember
This Occasion of Honor
Is not a Mellow one
We remember you
We celebrate your life
And your Memory will
Forever live on

Poseikip wrote: Freewriting With Shakespeare ideas:
If I should think of love
I'd think of you, your arms uplifted,
No melody is sweeter, nor could Orpheus
So have bewitched. I think of this,
And all my universe becomes perfection.
But were you in my arms, dear love,
The happiness would take my breath away.
If I should think of love,
I'd think of you.
Shakespeare's Sonnets:
Shy love, I think of you
As the morning air brushes the window pane,
And how much time of all it takes to know
The movement of your arm, the steps you take,
The curves along your head, your ears, your hair.
For all of this, each hand, each finger,
Each lip, each breath, each sigh,
Each word and sound of voice or tongue,
I would require an age to contemplate.
But for your heart your mind your thoughts, all these,
To love them all I need at least five centuries.
Sometimes I think
Our heads might be enclosed
Closer together upon the pillow's space,
And how into the dark deeps of your eyes
I'd look and think of angels. Then your breath
And all the aura of your body's breathing
Intoxicatedly would overwhelm me
And I would die. For it is too much
That such a thing should be and I should live.
Surely the thought is greater than reality,
The sum of you and love outsteps infinity.
If happiness were like
The flowers of June then I would take
The best of them, roses and columbine,
The lilies, and bind them in your hair.
They are not more beautiful but they add
Meaning to my love. For all our words
Are short and lame of breath and stumble,
And you surpass them though I know not why.
Shy love, I think of you as the day wanes
And as the sun sinks deep into the ocean
And as the stars turn round above in silent motion.
