Earnings from competitions?
In the list that shows how your horse has been doing in competitions, where it shows how much they've been making with their winnings, is it taking into account how much the comps cost to enter?
For example, if it costs $100 to enter a competition, and I win $250, will it show $150 or $250 in the earnings column? And, on that note, if I did win $250 like my example, I would only be making $150 because I'm not receiving my entry fee amount back, right?
Basically, I'm trying to figure out how much my horses are actually making in their competitions, and if there is a way to see how much they're winning after taking the fee amounts into account. I have never understood how things actually function in this regard.
I hope this makes sense! Sorry if it's confusing.

Re: Earnings from competitions?
From my experience, entry fees are not taken into account. So in your example of the 100 entry fee and winning 250, your horse has only actually earned 150.Redpyre wrote:In the list that shows how your horse has been doing in competitions, where it shows how much they've been making with their winnings, is it taking into account how much the comps cost to enter?

When I'm actually entering competitions on a horse I want to keep track of earnings, I make note of my money, then enter the competitions, then take another look at my money. Do a little subtracting and I have the total entry fee I just spent. I jot down the number in the horse notes and when that horse 'earns' that amount, anything above that is pure profit.
Unless I'm wrong, entry fees are also not taken into account in a horse's total money earnings in real life. It's about cup wins, titles and total earnings and has very little to do with actual horse expenditures, that helps to show how much a horse is 'actually worth'.

Ah, I didn't know that about how earnings worked in real life. That does explain that a little, then.BlackOak2 wrote:From my experience, entry fees are not taken into account. So in your example of the 100 entry fee and winning 250, your horse has only actually earned 150.

I do wish there was a way, other than doing the math myself every time, to see how much I was actually making. Really, being able to tell for sure if my horses were even breaking even or not would be great. I guess I'll go post in the suggestions board about it.
