Foal not gaining energy?
Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post
I'm a little worried about my new foal Thunderbird, I got a notification saying he isn't eating enough to keep up his energy! But when I checked, he's getting 110% daily energy and he's on Mare's Milk and grass... how can I make sure he's eating enough?! This is my handsome boy Thunderbird http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1757776
Thanks in advance for any help

First off, don't worry too much, horses on here right now can only ever die of old age, not neglect in any form.SummerBreeze1 wrote:Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post![]()

Secondly, to directly answer your question, he's a big boy!... so it will be difficult to keep weight gaining on him as he grows through his first year.
Ways to help with this are to keep him in a pasture all alone and now that he's weaned, put him on weight gain mix, we can use that to stuff more into his gullet than any other feeding choice.
Weight right now only affects the player-made competitions, so if you choose to not feed any of your horses to save on money, it won't affect them at all, unless you're using them in player-made competitions. It's debatable whether it has much of an affect on the local shows.

Thank you so much! He is a big boy isn't he?! I was shocked when he was born... his half-sister is like a third of his size lol. He's 17.3 hands now at 9.5 months old! I didn't realize that feeding only really affected player-made shows... I won't worry too much about them if they happen to drop down a bit then lol! Thanks so much for your help!
