Is someone interested in setting the thread up? If not, then I'll look around tomorrow and ping you there when it's ready and any suggestions for making it better or changing something are also welcome :)
A thread would have been useful right now, but I'll share it here.

I just had a filly born, who was meant to be Sorraia. Both parents are 3/4* - mare a bit too small, sire a bit too tall, other requirements nicely spread between them on the different ends of the spectrum - probably the best pairing I've made so far. Well, in theory.
The filly is just one star - she's got the bulk around where her parents are. All the rest of the measurements have gone over the extremes not only of her parents, but also her parents' pedigrees for several generations - I couldn't find another medium heavy horse in the pedigree.
I totally love this game, and it frustrates me to no end :))

The tread/Topic is set up now :) Sorry for taking some time, I fell ill in the recent days and couldn't find the motivation <.<'

redster wrote:After long last, I've finally bred my first Sorraia! I got so excited, I just had to post somewhere about it. I know there are other folks out there trying for the same breed (and others working for different rarer breeds) so I thought maybe someone else might like to see, or share their own breeding accomplishments too.

I'd originally wanted to post my success in a Sorraia thread on the Breeding Communities board, but there doesn't seem to be one. Maybe if there is enough interest, we could start one?

Mystify

Her stats aren't great, but there are no reds, and she has 0% COI. I'm hoping to keep my Sorraia line at low-to-no COI, and work on their stats as I flesh out their numbers. I'm also hoping to keep them looking like their real-life breed, which I think should be blissfully easy in this case, with how much grullo/bay dun/coyote dun is in the progenitors that I currently have. Also, I'm laughing because the mare that finally threw her was the one that had the lowest Sorraia breed conformation out of my herd. I'd almost gotten rid of her before this. She'd only been named "iffy 2" until she gave birth to Mystify.

Any thoughts, collaboration ideas, or advice on how to proceed from here would be welcome too!
congrats on your success! :)
just a quick note to say that im very interested in this breed and will certainly watch the breeding posts on this topic... - mostly because its one of the many (many, many...) breeds that make up the australian drought horse - which i hope to eventually create from scratch...

but right now - its not my main focus... (crosses arms at those who critisise Arabians lol *wink*) all the best! :)

In my case I'm breeding for the Sanhe - so I'm also currently only lurking here as I'm still in the beginning stages - like, just shy on the 4th of ...12 breeds I think? I wish you much success with the ADH though, they are such gentle giants :)

As was discussed we opened a thread on Sorraias, the link to the actual topic in Breeding Commuities is mentioned above so I think it's better to look there regarding current developments for and on the Sorraias ^^

Oh, and I wasn't critizising Arabians (then I'd have to shoot myself in the knee) but as on my main account I'm trying for low coi arabs for my abyssinians it's very frustrating to find any breeder not crawling around in the 70-100% COIs -.-' so don't take the popcorn comment personally ;)

Nah, you are good ;) I just wanted to clear it up before offending someone - so don't mind me (I'm not a native speaker, so I know the pain of fighting for the right words sometimes). Yes, or at least a COI filter for the market would be much appreciated ^^'

Whoop! I'm finally catching up myself. Life got weird and I distracted myself on my side account for a while... I totally forgot to check the messages on this one, haha. I'll see you all in the new Sorraia thread! :D
