I know it's probably simple but I can't figure it out.
I was wondering what color my filly is? she's a year old thoroughbred.

Hi Aquatonian :)
Yor filly is bay dun. She also has a gene that causes the metallic shine to her coat. Very pretty!
She may carry Tiger Eye from her sire's side. If she is, she's hiding it (it would only be visible if she also had Champagne or if she had two Tiger Eye copies). I can say for sure that she's Ee - this means that her foals can be either chestnut based or black based, but this depends on their sire.

She has been rehomed now, but bay (and bay dun) horses have black manes and tails. Also black legs. Chestnut (and red dun) horses have reddish brown legs, their manes and tails are also red or a lighter colour (if they have the Flaxen gene).AquatonianFarms wrote:nyraeia wrote:Thabks so much!
