I know it is biased, but revese style harem I'm completly ok with (if it is written well), visual novels might be something for you then :D (DraMatical Murder for example is relativly tame and still has such a good story/routes; togainu no chi even has an ova, but the game is much better; Sweet Pool is ... one of kind, harsh - but the story is intriguing; lamento - beyond the void was one of the best vns I've even seen :3)
I loke slowburn a lot when it's good written (and not frustrating to watch).
We seem to share a really similiar taste oO I still play skyrim and have over 400hours at least xD Dragon Age is a series I can also recomend (origins has the best story and romance-options; DA 2 has the best battle system and DA Inquisition is between both but very time-consuming when you are a competionist like me x) ); then there is the Dark Souls universe (this I can recommend to watch as a walkthrough - the lore is one of the most intriguing, the community toxic but creative, it has some of the most talented composers - official and fan-based - it is a really hard to play by youself though, with friends it is much more fun but...time is also a matter). I got into FF kind of late but I love the series, 7 is one of my favourites, but they all have good aspects <3 My only horse game I played (and still would if I could) is called 'Mein Pferderennstall' (My Racingstable) but it just had a small quantity and was never continued or rereleased... You could train racehorses and breed for stats and also take part in races where your could even watch when your stats came into play - it was challenging but reasonable, never found anything like it since

I read a manga where they debated over censoring methods for one absolutely perverted guy running around naked and it was hillarious, I cried tears reading it, - if sadly true, the censoring just made it look more awful than not xD In germany when it is later than 0am adult advertisments are commonly shown but they are even disturbing to me... and I know there are kids that stay awake much longer and their parents don't care...
I'm pretty sure I heard of that manga and what I hear is what you said, screaming hilarious. That's one of those I'd want to watch as an anime. The libraries around here don't carry them (I'm in the backwoods) and I have no extra money to spend on the manga, though if I had a million dollars... :P

We have some tame, late-night ads for such raunchy things, but it doesn't get anywhere close to the point that I would hesitate letting a teen-aged kid watch it. Then we have channels that are nothing but *. Those are special-subscription and anything legal goes. I'm fine with this type of split. I still get embarrassed for those that want to subscribe, calling in such a subscription...
"Hi, this is... for your cable company, how may I help you?"
"Yeah, uh... I'd like to subscribe to channel 246..."
"And what's the name of that channel?"
"Uh... it's the one with... uh... it has sex..."

 red cheeks and all.

I got into some online games a while ago, Eve was one of them, Rift was another. I just don't play well with other people in such circumstances, so I gave up those type of MO-style games.
I did try dragon age, I think I might even have the game still somewhere, but I couldn't get into it, for whatever reason. I don't recall. But if I get the chance (or can find the game here) I think I'll give it another try.
I never considered getting into dark souls, I fell out of playing new games before that. In fact, before skyrim, I hadn't purchased or tried a new offline game since 2008, that was Gallop Racer, but I already new that series. There is one more that I know of to that one, but it requires me to get another console game to play that last one, and I refuse to do that just yet.
At that point in time, I was so depressed about not finding a game I could play for hours and hours. Save for a select few RPG, like final fantasy and elder scrolls, and of course the gallop racer series, I could finish any other game I had any interest in playing in about three hours. I'm not a gamer, and I generally play on the easy or regular levels. I don't play games to be challenged, I play them to indulge in an 'easy path'. So games that continue for a long time, or that have a lot of little side-stories are those I can spend hundreds of hours on. That said, I do enjoy the Creed Assassin series. That's one of the few I like that's outside of my regular choices.
I might swing by to read the lore behind dark souls. After all, the story to any game, anime or other fiction or fantasy is of course, very important.
Final Fantasy 7 is one of the best of the series! After 7 however, it went quickly downhill. I haven't been able to get back into it since then.
Your game 'my racing stable', sounds a lot like the ones I've played through the years. I've searched since early 2000's for just the right type of breeding/genetics/horses games and though I've come close, I never was completely satisfied. This game is the singular one out of nearly a 20 year search, nothing comes close, although there are quite a few that live up to expectations. I've found none to be played on the pc, offline that have satisfied me though.
I do hear that there are a couple here in the states that are pay-to-play that have sucked some racing-fans in. One my sister played while on the road (truck-driver), she was really thrilled about. You could play that one for free, or pay to actually win money out of it, but you had to access it from certain truck-stops throughout the continental US. There are some other online horse racing games that I haven't tried because they are pay-to-play and I won't risk spending money on an unknown when my record for trials for games has been... on the much lower end.
I think I'm done searching, as long as HWO stays, I'm satisfied and pleased. :D

God no - subscibing to this with a call x_x yeah, red cheeks indeed... well, there are these in germany as well but in the last years I got this impression that even 'normal' channels after 0 tend to get steamy ( the bad quality) and you are just embarassed for the people shown -.-'
Give Dark Souls a try, it is really worth it - Bloodborn as well, it is alike but more lovecraftian themes and the artstyle is gorgeous (gothic/victorian trench coats, hats and other attire as well as architecture <3).

I try mmos every once and then but few could make me stay for long, I've played rift, wow, aion, and a lot more; one called 'Riders of Icarus' is one of the few okay-ish (but sadly later stages make playing solo just impossible) but even with my good gaming-pal we are not able to go further than half to max level. Well, if choices influencing the game is a thing you like, the online game star wars the old republic has storylines for every single class, options to romance your companions (depending on you gender and if their race is humanoid enough <.<) and it is ftp even in later stages, just the content itself is limited - which can be good when you want to have an end-point.

Online games for horses/management seem to be even less capable - this one is the only one that has succeded ever ^^ and I want a good alternative offline but I never found any but the game I mentioned :/ The online games always require money are some point to get further or have limited actions/resources (too limited) for really 'playing' it. and offline games only seem to be able to focus on one aspect breeding (and then mostly in much too simple ways or without really showing you your horses like on a pasture, grazing or running as they want) or you can only manage personel or have to train with live-courses and that limits the amount of horses. I can't seem to find any that has both, realistic/visual horses and allows you to still manage like a real organizer (giving orders to train this and that way, build facilities, decide which horses to breed and still can watch them grow in the stable of on the pasture)...

I'll keep them in mind. It's funny though, I'm alright watching anime romance or reading it, but I don't want to play it. I only got into Rift because my father was a beta tester for the game and he brought me on later as part of his guild. But that game also went seriously money-heavy and I lost much interest in it when, you're right, you can't really get anywhere playing alone. I did like the crafting in it, to a point.

Offline games like what you're searching for (and what I have), they don't exist, at least none that I've found to date.
My sister plays... actually played, past tense, a lot of those massive online games that allow you to marry, I thought it was just weird. But I can see the fun it something like that. It was even funnier that one of her online friends that she met... strictly on the game, ended up becoming her boyfriend for a time, then she came to realize that some of the friends she knew online were here actual friends in real life. Here she thought that like you and I, we were far apart. I figured by your timing, you might have been on the west-coast of the US or possibly Australia. Europe didn't occur to me. I don't know why.

That may be because I have a really unhealthy sleep cycle xD it's 5.43am here and I'm still writing with you ^^' It seems like a compliment to me though, my english looks good enough to be from an american teenager xD

Well, I admit, playing Visual novels is rather loosly said; I watched others play them - people who knew what choices to make (or had shown all possible outcomes of choices in the routes) it's much more leisurely than having to figure out when and why to answer like ... because ... ^^' so walkthroughs for me only - when it's visual novels :)
most friends I had came to games because of me - so there were few chances to meet already 'known' people, and I like to play on the english/american servers because the translations are better in english (if the game wasn't original in english) so the chances are even lesser there. I've given up learning languages like korean, chinese or japanese because it's never enough just knowing one and then I would have to learn the slang as well when I would like/have to chat with people so that isn't realistic when I have a life to live ^^'

And having family that is into gaming is enviable - a dad (well, mine is dead already so my mum? x) ) playing games with me, how cool! *-*

Dad and I get along well enough. He's getting on in age now though and although we've played together in the past, his interests and my interests in games to play have taken separate paths. Plus he aggravates me, more so in recent years. :D But all's good, it just comes down to two opinionated adults.

I'm not good at languages, as I've already said. I took three years of french and all I could recall afterward is two sentences: 'I do not speak french' and ... actually, I don't recall the other sentence. However, after hearing so many different languages through the years, and seeing printed texts (with the exception of the asian texts), I can figure out a lot of singular words. Not that it'sany help to me! But I do understand the drive to learn languages. I thought french would open that door for me, it was a fairly easy language, and had a lot of similar beginnings to english and a lot of the other European languages.

It would've been wonderful if I could've been multi-lingual.

You're english is better than an american teenager. You actually still type out words, they stopped typing words more than a couple years ago. For instance:
lol = laugh out loud
fyi = for your information
lmao = laughing my *ss off
imo = in my opinion

There's a ton of them and the 'american teenager' will even verbally speak in this nonsense, short-hand, not just type them. Those are just the ones I recall off the top of my head.

Playable visual novels aren't really big over here. I think, unless I find the on the net, I'd be hard pressed to locate any for consoles at all. It's a shame too, it's one of those times that I'd like to have grown up in japan or something.

By the way, it just passed midnight here. :D

That's nice ^^, and having the option to even argue is still enviable; well my mother is still quite kind/enjoyable - she is such a mother hen sometimes though but it doesn't surprise me with my siblings being the (how do I say this in a nice way...) more 'difficult' types <.<'
french is awful x_x, I had it about 6 years, chose to take english out of my schedule after 8 years as soon as I could (because our english teachers were the worst) and chose spanish instead. spanish is a rather nice language, I found more similarities to english than french if I'm truthfull and that made it easier for me; it's also handy because what you can't find on the internet in english you'll probably find in spanish or it just doesn't exist X)

Thanks for your kind words :) I'll say, sometimes I do use 'lol' - but only in chats ;) I stumble about these short-words often enough, especially when everyone around you seems to know them by heart and just you are the odd one out and sometimes they even have different ... extensions(?) which makes it even harder for forgeiners to follow ^^'

That also is a reason why one can only watch them being played and there being a few kind souls translating or subbing them (I generally prefere subs but it depends on the original language). Yes, even some consoles are japan/asian exclusive so some games are even more restricted... so many good ones are never available overseas and that is a * shame

Well, can I take your time? :p considering that I should get at least a few hours, I'll wish you a nice night and fun on the game :3

Here's hoping you have a restful sleep, also. I'm just about giving up too, I have an anime to finish (Kobayashi-san Chi no maid dragon), which isn't really all that interesting, but I started it and I have two episodes to the end, so... I'm finishing it.

I'm fine with chatting. And I am sorry to hear that your father passed away. I don't much comment anymore about the passing of family members, because really, what is there left to say? After all, people repeating 'I'm sorry for your loss' eventually just grinds on nerves too raw from reality to not get upset about.

I feel the same way about the short-form as well. I have to constantly look it up on the internet and until recently, I had a bookmarked site. In the US, however, we have a new slang language that is developing, Spanglish, which is the combination of english and spanish, it's like the * child of two 'royal' kingdoms. I know english has pretty much taken over the world where it can (which I have mixed feelings about), but this new spanglish is just absurd. Of course, I find myself able to understand it fairly easily... yeash, that's just bad, isn't it...

It's a good thing that the world is becoming more and more connected, but alongside it, it makes you see everything you can miss out on. Both good and bad.

thanks - I did have one :) but turned ill a day after <.<'
was the end satisfying at least?

It's been some time since (as I was just 6), but more than being sad you could say I'm disappointed and more than a bit regretfull never getting/having the chance to get to know him better ...there are many things you find an interest in later and often when I'm seeing or hearing about the fathers of other people I'm a bit jealous the got this chance and I never could and from my mother I know I was an awfull 'daddys' child xD.

Good to know it isn't just non-speakers then ;) yeah, mix-ins of other languages seem to get rather 'popular', here it is indeed english words that tend to sufuse the normale german words or just plain replace them (at least in the opinion of teens) - I may like english because of its versatility but speaking my own language and knowing the traps and words to cicle them (instead of just avoiding due to taking a forgein word) is important as well, to me at least. Well, understanding is never a bad thing - it would be if you decided to only speak this spanglish from now on just because of it I think.

Yeah, or see how monetary reasons really lay down entire dreams of 'societies'/groups of people... there are kickstarter project that are better than some 'official' games, or books that never get a chance to shine just because the apparent main-stream seems not interested -.-

Yeah, or see how monetary reasons really lay down entire dreams of 'societies'/groups of people... there are kickstarter project that are better than some 'official' games, or books that never get a chance to shine just because the apparent main-stream seems not interested -.-
The ending of dragon-maid was so-so, about how the rest of it was, but it was an ending and not a cliff-hanger (I hate those!). It's a fine story, as stories go, but mediocre considering some of them I've read or seen in the past, thus the anime turned out the same. It was a little more geared toward children than I like to watch, but once I start something, it feels appropriate to finish it.

I sympathize with your 'ill' day, but welcome back after the weekend, to the game, at least.

I understand about feeling like you're missing out on some things after growing up a bit. I have similar experiences now that I'm an adult with my grandfather. He's the one grandparent that I was closest to, but probably had the fewest words with when I was young. Even now, I feel akin to him and he's been gone since I was in my late teens. After he passed, as the years continued by, I heard tales of him from other people and only as an adult realized what I missed out on. But as kids, can we really ever understand what to ask? And if we're led down that path, can we recognize what's told to us? There are reasons why we don't mature early or quickly and why our minds don't travel down certain paths until we're older. But it does suck that certain people we'd like to pick brains from, can't, for whatever reason, wait for us to mature.
What else really can be said?

The bad thing, when one considers such short-form, is that the 'dumb' kids can't spell words anymore! I'm not a great speller myself, but I'm adequate enough. However, there are limits to patience when kids have spell-check handy... It is important to be adequate in at least one's own native language, so I agree with you.

I've actually really begun to like programs like kickstarter. You're right, in this world, money speaks and rules very easily and pushes everything else to the wayside. Programs like kickstarter offers a leg-up and a way in.
