Re: {TM} Farm Log
Change of plans for creating my {TM} TB line. I'm going to start from scratch and create TBs using the breed recipe [ Arabian x North African Barb ] x [ Akhal-Teke x Galloway ]. I grabbed a Galloway mare off the market:

I probably won't be using her until further down the road. Right now I need to focus on breeding fast Akhal-Tekes, and I'm going to do this from the Adoption Center by crossing the Turks I have with Arabians. I might add in some higher HGP Arabians from the market to speed up the process.
I think I'll do this in steps.
Step 1: Breed fast Akhal-Tekes from the Adoption Center
Step 2: Breed North African Barbs from the Adoption Center and get their HGP up
Step 3: Cross your NABs with high HGP Arab studs from the market
Step 4: Cross your Akhal-Tekes with the Galloway mare
Step 5: When you get perfect 5* TB crosses, cross the crosses to get a TB
Step 6: Maybe introduce less common TB studs from the market, this is undecided as of right now
Step 7: Breed your TBs and get their confo, stats, and HGP up to create the exclusive {TM} TB line
I'm starting out with steps 1 and 2, creating fast Akhal-Tekes and NABs with high HGP. Here we go!

Re: {TM} Farm Log
Just to organize things, here is my collection of Akhal-Tekes so far:

His ears are hideous, but he does have redeeming features, including his speed (50) and his white sock
He has a HGP of 49,277 and a gold speed stat.

My Akhal-Teke fillies seem to be slower for some reason.... this one has 44 speed. Her HGP is 46,945 and she has two green stats- speed and agility. She also has two socks

This girl has 46 speed. I really like her color too
She has one sock and has a HGP of 48,064 with gold speed
As for my North African Barbs.... I'm thinking I'm going to get rid of any foal that is born with under 35k HGP and 25 speed.

I had to keep her though, cause she's so pretty
Her HGP is only 33,513, but again, she's gorgeous and she's also rated 5* in the TB book.

I also had to keep her because she's my fastest with 35 speed. Her HGP is 31,257
But I love her color

My last filly. 25 speed and a red stat
However, she's got my highest filly HGP with 35,483. She's also a lovely black roan and is rated 5* in the TB book.

Currently my fastest NAB colt with 35 speed. His HGP is barely below 35k, so I'll be keeping him. He's also rated 5* in the TB book

Was considering getting rid of him because he has a red stat and low (25) speed, but seriously, look at his color!!!
He also has the higher HGP of my two colts (36,154), so I think I'll keep him.
I may start introducing the fastest Akhal-Tekes from the market just to improve my Akhal-Tekes HGP faster.... maybe the same with my NABs. Undecided. I also went ahead and bred my Galloway mare:

With my 50 speed Akhal-Teke colt just to see what I would get. Curious
That's all for now I think!

Re: {TM} Farm Log
Update!
I have quite a few North African Barb x Arabian and Akhal-Teke x Galloway crosses now
North African Barb x Arabians

Gorgeous red dun filly with a HGP of 43,981 and 29 speed. She is also rated 5* in the TB book.

Another red dun filly with a higher HGP of 52,153 and one gold stat- intelligence. She is rated 4* in the TB book and has 27 speed.

This guy has smaller ears that most of my other crosses, so I'll be using him a lot probably. He is rated 5* in the TB book and has a HGP of 49,839. His speed is 31.

This colt is rated 5* in the TB book, but his HGP is lower than the other NAB x Arab crosses and he has a red stat. He also doesn't have a Paint marking and his speed is only 28. I am still keeping him though in case I need him or the other colts don't prove to be good sires.

This mare is the fastest NAB x Arab cross I have with speed of 34. Her ears are also proportioned and she's got two socks. Her HGP is pretty low, only 39,646 but she's high strung and rated 4* in the TB book.
Akhal-Teke x Galloways

He's only rated 3* for a TB and his ears are ridiculous, but he has a pretty nice HGP of 56,103 and two gold stats. His speed is 24.

His ears are pretty decently sized for this cross, so I'm happy about that
His speed is 28 and he's rated 5* in the TB book. His HGP is 45,005 and he has one green stat.

His face is hideous
However, his speed is 35 which redeems him. His HGP is 46,243 and he has one green stat. He's also rated 4* in the TB book because he is short.

Her ears are huge, her HGP is pretty low, and her speed is 28 so I'm considering rehoming her. However, I have few fillies of this cross so I may keep her. We'll see. She rates 4* in the TB book because she's short.

He's slower than the other colts with a speed of 24, but he is a different color and he's tall instead of short. May or may not be keeping him.

My only other filly who has a lower HGP than the first one. Her speed is also lower, only 26, and she's 4* in the TB book (her horse type is a little heavy). I like her dun markings though, and she's my only other filly, so I'll probably keep her.
All of my crosses are super slow
I'm going to start trying to breed a TB, and once I get a small collection, I'll cross them with little-used TB studs from the market to create my {TM} line. I'm getting closer!

Re: {TM} Farm Log
My very first two Thoroughbreds were born today!

and

The first one was my first TB, so I'll be keeping her. She's slower than both her parents though
The second one is a little faster and has two front stockings!
I also set up a method for judging the conformation of my TBs. The ideal conformation for my TBs is written on my main farm page beside the bold "HW Guildines." My TBs are judged on head, neck, shoulder, rib cage, flank, hip, legs, back, and downhill build. If they are ideal in any of these things, they get ++ beside that thing. If they are pretty good, they get a +. If they are getting there, a /. If that conformation part is really bad, a - is marked beside it. For example, this is the chart in my 2nd TB filly's notes:
Head /
Neck -
Shoulder /
Rib cage -
Flank -
Hip -
Legs ++
Back -
Downhill build +
The only thing she is ideal in is her legs. Her downhill build is pretty good, her shoulder is getting there, but her neck and rib cage are lacking. This is the way I'll mark all my {TM} TBs.
