$5 mill Most Realistic Horse Competition :).

Post by reyn »

So, many players are breeding for top show horses, which is great, but many of those breeds end up so mixed that they no longer look anything like the breed they are supposed to be. As there is currently little emphasis on a horse being true to type, such as there would be in the real world, I thought I would run a bit of a different competition to try and encourage a bit more breeding to breed standards.

I don't care about stats or show record. I simply want a horse of any breed or gender, that looks like the breed it is supposed to be. The horse that looks most true to type will win $5 million for its owner :). Rules below.

* No foundation stock horses, breeds must be at least a second generation breed
* No foals, horses must be of adult age
* Horses must be 100% of that breed, and 5* evaluation
* At least one of the parents must be owned by you, and you must have bred the horse you are submitting. Horses that are bred by and bought from other players will not be accepted, but I have no issue with using public studs
* You are breeding for as true to type as possible, the standards of which can be found on any breed society page
* Competition will run to the end of October, which gives you three weeks to get breeding if you don't have anything that's currently suitable
* Winnings are $5 million

This looks fun! I'm always up for a challenge. I only breed Thoroughbreds and I've already got a 5* star filly so I'll just wait for her to age/ or wait for a better horse.

I bred the first Missouri Fox Trotters in the game and I'm still proud of them. Here is my entry:

He is a 5* Missouri Fox Trotter with a pedigree of horses bred by me.

Hi, I'm breeding Abyssinians (or 'Oromo' horses like they are also called); I couldn't find a good picture of a real one, but I think this one of mine:

Yearning Dark

comes close to the original form.

I'm working on the green eyes (though personally I prefere cream-caused blue ones). He is a 5* and ...well breeding them back and forth to Abyssinians just a +1.
though he is a bit light, more like a racer - in my opinion, he has the long legs, a shortish back and a fitting head regarding the 'standard' appearance of the breed.
Because there are no rosettes/curly coats, this has to be enough :)

I hope you like him ^^

I'm changing my entry, as I've now sold both parents of the horse I had entered (both of which I'd bred as well). This is Heart's Desire, a bay 5* TB high strung mare, exceptional speed and in training to become a racehorse who should end up with a fair few titles. She is bred by me and I own her dam, who I also bred.

Since it has to be a 5*, this is my most arabian looking 5* arabian :)
I breed arabians for the arabian look and I have some even more arab looking arabs, but it happens a lot, that they are born too small.

AWE Eaql

5* Arabian Evaluation
Traditional bay in colour
Arabic name (All of my Arabians are given Arabic names)
Concave profile and flagged tail
Both parents were bred by me, but I sold the sire.
I have bred most of his line back to his great grandparents at least.

She's around the sixth generation I've bred from adoption centre stock.

I like her head, short, dished face and prominent jowls. Her neck is long, which is desirable for Arabians, but a little out of proportion to her body. Her back is to long in proportion to her legs, which ruins the square proportion which is desirable in Arabians. She has a nice tail lift though and a good, deep chest and in all her chestnut blandness has suitable colouration for an Arabian.

She passes the Arabian evaluation too 5/5.

I'd like to submit my Marchador show stallion.

http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1537271

When I designed my breeding program I looked at the traits Marchadors are supposed to exhibit and bred my horses for that, but with a couple tweaks.
Signature? I don't need no stinkin' signature! Everybody knows who I am already!

She is my first painted chincoteague pony I've ever bred. Chincoteague ponies in real life usually come in tobiano.
5* Chincoteague eval to boot!
