Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Marwari/Malani Horse Breeding Community
Greetings fellow breeders! To my knowledge there was no thread yet posted here specifically for this breed, so I took the liberty of starting one
As you could tell, this thread is dedicated to those interested in breeding the rare and old breed that originates in India, the Marwari/Malani Horse! The breed in HWO was struggling (and it still is), at not ultimately becoming absorbed my the other light horse type breeds. This breed being one of my favorites, I decided to step in and make an attempt at preserving and ultimately bring the breed to a thriving state. My goal is to help populate the game with high genetic potential and colorful horses bearing the Marwari breed. The breed historically was known for having individuals that are pinto (considered the most valuable), and thanks to the recent update I plan to add Tobiano into the breed progressively through the influence of North African Barbs. Other breeds I am utilizing to help bring color and genetic potential include Thoroughbreds and Arabians.
Some progress I have made so far, here is a colt who is a Marwari/Arabian cross, though he may not be anything impressive colorwise as he is only Chestnut, this colt managed to score 3 gold traits and has a HGP of 63k.

My hopes are to produce a filly from a separate line who also has a high HGP and pair them together in order to really get my project up and running.
Anyone else interested? I have a number of horses I'm willing to sell to help spread the Marwari breed out. If you know any good Marwari stallions or if anyone has a Marwari of either gender for sale, please let me know because I want to get as much variety in my population as possible! Also I would love to see what horses you have, whether purebred or part Marwari!

Re: Marwari/Malani Horse Breeding Community
I actually just stopped breeding Arabian/Marwari crosses and have a few for sale if you're interested.
Brave Beginning

Permanent Legacy

Brave Beginning has a 4 Marwari evaluation and Permanent Legacy has a 3. Brave Beginning's mom is Permanent Legacy's grandmother, but that horse is the offspring of two foundation Arabians. If you're interested in either let me know. Good luck with your Marwari breeding!

Oh Afleet Point, yes I recall this stallion. I actually own one of his fillies after breeding one of my African barbs to try to get a part Marwari with tobiano. I didn't get it, but I did get silver and the greyRadish wrote:My holding account Occamy has a Marwari stallion I am happy to use for this project.

Re: Marwari/Malani Horse Breeding Community
So, found out some neat facts! I didn't realize this, but you could practically create every horse breed through specific crosses and watching measurements between generations. The Marwari, for those who would like to know, can be bred by breeding a Arabian x Turkmene cross with a Kathiawari (which is a cross between a Baladi and a Arabian x Turkmene cross). Looks like I'm gonna take a special approach to breeding some of my Marwari's.

Re: Marwari/Malani Horse Breeding Community
I recently bought a Marwari stallion who is up for stud on my current account.

Re: Marwari/Malani Horse Breeding Community
Hi!, I'm not really breeding for Marwaris, but I am working with Turkmenes on this account and my other is working towards Manipuris, another breed from India, so I'm pretty sure I may have crosses other horses that might be used. I'm happy to offer broods or studs of any horse that might help your lines. I love the Indian breeds and would love help populate the game with high quality animals.
Hullabaloo
Currently focusing on Turkmenes exclusively. I'm hoping to add color, patterns, high HGP and confo for Endurance. Most of them are better in racing at this time, but I'd like to get colors and patterns in early in the process so when I go to create secondary breeds everything is there already. This ranch is not quite to year 30 yet. I'm fairly new.
Hooplah
This is my main account and ultimately I will be breeding Manipuris. Right now this farm has Tarpans, Przewalskis, Mongolians, and Chinese Ponies, and various crosses. I've been holding off on creating Tibetans while I improve the breeds I have now. Like the Turks, I'm trying to get lots of color and pattern genes cemented early along with improving HGP and conformation.
