My horse won't drop

Post by southard2002 »

My horse won't drop her foal, and it's been a while, and she's not getting energy as she should.

So you're number three of the times I've seen this. Check out this recent post, perhaps it'll help you.

As far as the energy, stick her in a lush pasture and feed her weight gain formula, as much as she can eat. As long as she's not a feeding error horse, it should fix the energy problem.

she's been longer than that i think and i have 2 pregnant mares, and she's eating as much as possible, you could look at her in my barn, she's "halfbreed" in the only barn

Linking the horse always helps. Right now it's not a big deal because you have a very limited farm, but when you get ten or more barns and pastures, looking through a hundred plus horses gets a little tedious for those willing to help, also it may turn some players away from helping because they have to take extra time to hunt down a single horse among a hundred plus. It's no big deal right now, I found her within a few clicks (and following where you said). In the future when having issues with a specific horse, try to remember to provide the link. :D

I can't do anything for advice about her pregnancy (I did offer some suggestions for what could've happened in the post I linked before).
However, for her food, you have her overclocked. I.E. you're trying to stuff down into her gullet way more than she could possibly eat.
This is a copy of your feeding section:
Feeding
100% Alfalfa Cubes
100% Oats
100% Performance Mix
100% Weight Gain Mix
400% Daily Energy

Regular Feed: 32.5kg to 65.1kg
Max Feed: 13.8kg
If you take notice of her max feed (in red), you'll notice that she can eat no more than 13.8 kg at any point in time, yet the food you're giving her adds up to between 32.5 to 65.1 kgs a day. Feeding is given to the horse alphabetically and the topmost first, so what you're doing is feeding her all the alfalfa cubes, she's filling up on them and not able to eat the oats, performance or weight gain. So the cubes are actually offering her much less than what she needs to sustain herself on. Drop all the feeding, Give her 100% weight gain and offer her performance only until she hits her max feed. And make sure you are just under max, not over max. I think she has enough room to fulfill her requirements even in a barn.

From my other post... this is all I can offer on your pregnant mare:

"I have heard only one other case of a mare not giving birth on 'time'. That horse did give birth I think it was a couple turns after the post was published, so it was no longer a problem.
It can't be because you don't have 'room' as the moment the you breed the mare, the spot that is needed for the foal is immediately taken.
It could be that you don't remember re-breeding her when she last gave birth...? I've done that.
It perhaps may be that it's not been as long as you think. I've done that as well.
To prevent myself from doing this again, I put the age of the mare when she's bred.
Link the mare though and put her age down as she is now in her notes. I could even recommend taking a picture every turn you take to prove that she is still pregnant. If indeed you have a buggy mare, our admins will need to take a look at her.
I am apt to believe you might have done what I've done in the past, forgotten I've bred her again and also when I've bred her."

Good to see that she dropped within 3 months (horse age) after this posting.
Don't know why it happened, but it's nice to see that it fixed itself.
