Private Messaging for All Players

One thing that kinda bugs me is that fact that only upgraded players can message one another and non-upgraded players have to ping each other in the forum to contact each other. I believe private messaging would be very beneficial if all players had access to it, instead of having to most likely spend money for pony tokens for an upgrade.

This has been discussed many times already and the general consensus (at least from what I recall, unless something has changed), has been that it should remain as an ungraded benefit only.

But to offer my input again: I prefer to not have access to it as a non-upgraded member. I have played many games in the past both with and without access to private messaging and I like not having random people mailing me.
I also like having to offer contact on co-projects on a public forum because input from non-project members (either to join or to offer outside ideas) can be very constructive.

Plus, contact on public forums only can also protect us.

It may not be ideal, but we can ping people we need to, whenever we need to, so private messaging is not necessary for alerting another player that 'we need to talk'.

But that's my opinion.

i easily make enough pony tokens that i never have to pay for an upgrade. Save them up.

Earning pony tokens to upgrade is easy, I have been playing almost 2 years and have never paid for pony tokens to upgrade. I earned enough from doing local level 9 and 10 shows.

I'm in favor of giving all players access to PM because:

-- Some players have never posted publicly and it is therefore impossible to ping them.

-- I have occasionally tried to contact players who were online and that didn't necessarily work well either. As a result, I'm extremely unwilling to use the Chat Room.

You can ping people without them having had post in the forum. There is even a help post on how to ping people who you cant respond to with a quote.

I think that everybody should be able to use pm because I would like to have a private conversation with somebody without other people being able to see what we are talking about. And what I want to ask/talk about could be embarrassing and why would I want all the players on here to know about it?

I think it's a good idea, but I think there should still be another option for upgraded players. Maybe an all-upgraded players forum?

Same, it really helps if you do a ton of local shows as it regenerates days and gives you money and pony tokens.
