Mare and foal?

Post by Royal Pie »

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out these horses' colors.

She looks like she may be double cream with a champagne gene, but I'm not sure about the base color. Also, is that a tiger eye? It looks greenish. She was also much darker before gaining muscle.

Not knowing her color, I'm also stuck on her foal. It looks like he got the tiger eye, but other than that, I have no clue. His dad died and I can't take a proper look at his coat to know what is going on with him, was he a cremello?

Thank you all for your answers, I'm incredibly bad with dilutions.

Just so you know, dilutions are not my strong suit either.

Winterfell appears to be a perlino champagne, that's champagne with two cream genes. The light eyes come from the double cream in her case or possibly from tiger eye, I'm not sure.

Since she will always through one cream, her son must have one cream gene. It does not look like he inherited the champagne, which means his mother only carries a single champagne gene. His father appears to be an apricot (two pearls), but since he comes from at least one cream carrier, he cannot be double pearl. He appears to be a palomino pearl rather than a cremello (he's too dark in my opinion). Hypnosis appears to be a buckskin pearl. One cream, one pearl gene. To see if he is indeed a pearl carrier is to cross him to a double pearl and see if he throws a double pearl.
