HGP
Hi,
What does HGP mean? Or I mean, what is the function of it. I firstly thought how higher the HGP how better the stats of a horse are, but I found out this is wrong.
Stallion with 32 HGP and 1 red stat http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1492516
Mare with 27 HGP and no red stats http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1492509
So, what is the function of HGP?

Re: HGP
HGP stands for Horse Genetic Potential and is a hard number for the genetics in the stats that the horse has. It's there to be used as a guide and more in-depth understanding of what your horse actually carries. When paired with the breeder's report and the conformation evaluation (you do not need the conformation evaluation, but it helps), it can guide you to determine what most likely traits your horse has.Demonic wrote:Hi,

For instance, a downhill slope (from the hips to the withers), means generally that the horse is good for speed, but let's say the horse has a low HGP in the 22,000 range, but has a gold colored speed stat. If you were to visit the conformation evaluation page, you could determine just how much of this horse's actual conformation can be attributed to this horse's gold-colored speed stat. If the conformation for speed is lower, then this will tell you that this horse has very strong speed genes and that they may be a much better candidate for the breeding shed.
Does this make sense? Do you have further questions now?

Re: HGP
Yes it makes sense
Thx!
