What breeds work best for what disciplines?
Hi, I have a few breeds and I was wondering what breeds work best with what discipline?

Follow what they're good at in real life. This game is based a lot on realism, so if they prove to be superior in a certain sport (or a few of them), then here, in the game, they should also prove to be decent at it.Kunama18 wrote:Hi, I have a few breeds and I was wondering what breeds work best with what discipline?
However, there's a lot that also affects them in-game, such as conformation and genetics. So it's not too difficult to form a particular breed into a certain sport, such as developing a very heavy thoroughbred that can compete in log pull.
Find a breed or a sport you're interested in and do a little of matching up. Then find a particular horse that seems to excel in that sport (preferably a male and a female), then breed those genes out to produce foals that carry a good base. Chose the best foals that fit what you're looking for and continue in this fashion.
As examples:
Quarters in real life excel in cutting, ranch, western trail, etc.
Arabians in real life excel in endurance and breed-specific racing.
Warmbloods in real life (arguably almost any of them) excel in cross country, dressage, show jumping, etc.
