Pregnancy length
I don't have much experience with breeding horses in RL, but everywhere I look, it says normal gestation is 11 months, +/- about 2 weeks, 360 days maximum, which is just short of a full year, 12 months. Here on HWO we have up to 26 turns to wait, or 13 months. I suppose it could be considered realistic enough if it was a rare occasion for mares to foal that late, however my experience says (I mark down the mare's age when I breed her, so that I'd know when to expect the foal) it is extremely rare that they foal before a full year, and lots and lots of mares wait for the full 13 months (and all the mares do that, AC mares, my own lined mares, mares someone else had bred.. so I don't think we have somehow accidentally selected them to carry their foals longer).
Or is it just me having all the mares that keep their legs crossed up to the last moment?

Re: Pregnancy length
On this account, most of my mares will pop early, at just under a year (or a little before even that). I have noticed that a lot (or even all) of the AC stock I pick up seem to pop at about a year.Tjigra wrote:I don't have much experience with breeding horses in RL, but everywhere I look, it says normal gestation is 11 months, +/- about 2 weeks, 360 days maximum, which is just short of a full year, 12 months. But on the other account, they're all over. I have noticed that some will follow what their mother's basic pop-time was. For example, the mare will have 5 fillies, all under a year, and all of those fillies, but one will also pop just under a year.
I don't know if it's genetically linked, I assume it can be, since a lot of things are in this game.
