I hope someday in HWO the face and legs markings won't be linked to Tobiano, but will be more random. That's how it is in real life, right? As far as I'm aware, stripes, snips, socks and the like are not genetically determined like color.

I agree, I kinda wish it wasn't linked to Tobiano. I do know that identical markings can be passed to offspring, so it's genetic.

In real life, white markings are linked to the KIT gene, or somewhere near it. They are genetic, not entirely random.

Well in fact, they are quite random, meaning they are affected by the position of the foal in the mare and other stuff, therefore 2 clones of the same horse won't have the same markings.

They are a genetic trait with a random expression, just like any other white marking.
