Sock Babies

I'm drowning in sock babies, a lot of them are really good. I just don't know what to do with them, at all. It sounds like you basically have to reinvent all the breeds? I mean that doesn't make sense either because of the Arabians but maybe paint color control? So you don't get a punch of paint Fresians or something? So lost. I was told it's like a cup you have to fill up with the color to get it - but that doesn't make sense either. I mean you're never going to get a high HGP paint horse unless you max out the NABs... and the poor Paint breed itself. You can't add this color into your breeding line? You just cross an Arabian with a paint and get a sock and then you breed it to another Arabian and get less of a sock and I'm just so dang lost. So do I just sell all these or what? Seems to be zero point.

I'm going to try to explain this to you a bit better.

So say you breed a paint stallion (XX) with a solid mare (xx)
By taking one gene from the dad (X) and one from the mom (x), you have a 100% chance of having a foal with the genes (Xx) or, a foal with socks.

So let's say you breed one of their foals (Xx) with a horse who is a paint (XX)
Here are the possibilities of the foal:
XX XX
Xx Xx
So, you have a 50% chance of a paint foal, 50% chance of a foal with socks.

If I you were to breed a solid horse (xx) with a horse with socks (Xx), here are the possible outcomes:
Xx xx
Xx xx
So in that combination, you have a 50% chance of a horse with socks, 50% chance of a solid horse.
