Re: And now, the what color is my horse forum!
Okay, I have a question.
I've seen a couple of Turkmenes that have what looks like some sort of dilution (separate from the metallic sheen). Take this guy I nabbed from the AC earlier:

He's lighter than the usual black Turkmene with a hint of primitive markings on his shoulders. I also have a mare who shares the same sort of slightly diluted-looking color with a hint of markings on the shoulder:

Is this any particular color gene, or is it just a variation in the Turkmene breed?

I thought it couldn't be grulla, though? I didn't think the dun gene existed in Turkmenes (or at least it isn't supposed to exist in Akhal-Tekes).

Turkmenes are not Akhal Tekes. Turkmenes carry dun. The first horse is grulla, the second is bay dun.

Re: And now, the what color is my horse forum!
I am a little stumped with this filly: http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/31271
I know she has mealy, dun, and roan. I am just not sure if she is bay or buckskin.

I have this pretty colt that really confuses me. To me it looks like his head is darker than his body, what all alone is confusing enough for me, because his parents dont inherit neither dun nor rabicano. So I am only imagining it or does he have dun/rabicano? And if so, what does he have, dun or rabicano? I really cant tell. http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/36720

I see what you are talking about. He looks almost a bit dun-like. There's nowhere he could have gotten it from, though, as his parents are sooty buckskin and sooty palomino.Satinka wrote:I have this pretty colt that really confuses me. I think it's probably simply a variation of the palomino colour in-game that gives a tiny bit of greyish cast to the body.

What do we think about this one? http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/42089
The silver and dun are pretty obvious, but what's giving him the red along the underside?
