Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Starting a NEW Breed ♕

Post by CrownRoyalEquestrian »

So! I know this was mentioned on it becoming a feature at some point in the game, I'm not holding out too much hope. But in real life, my grandfather started an amazing cross of the American Saddlebred and Paints. What he got was nothing short of extraordinary and I thought it would be super fun to do the same (now that his stable, his legacy has practically vanished). Since there is no way in heck I can create the American Saddlebred on here - I'm going to attempt to make my own breed and just in case this happens as a feature on the game, it'll be a cross of two breeds - that's the goal. Here's my starter.

New Breed Goal/Stallion

GOALS - Keep the tiger striped coat, mostly on the legs, the dorsal stripes and the back. The goal is a tiger striped horse with predominantly different colored eyes. *Mohawk Mane. *Keep Improving Conformation. *60k+ HGP. *Keep general body shape, neck, croup height, back length, shape. Aim for Endurance, Cross Country, Dressage/English disciplines, Saddleseat, Hunter. Horse Type Body. Very Light-Light-Medium Light. 16-18hh.

1st STAGE -- Anglo-Arabian HIGH HGP Mares with Blue/Green Eyes and Similar Shape. Keep the wild coat, breed out the wild.

2nd STAGE -- Pure Anglo-Arabians. Push HGP as high as possible. Possibly introduce the second breed. I have high HGP Norfolk Trotters but, questionably - don't know if this is a good cross yet. Turkemene would be ideal or the Deliboz. Not Arabian. Thoroughbred Possibly.

3rd STAGE -- TWO STRONG HGP CROSSES. Improve the new breed, start 3-4 separate breeding lines. (3-4 different stallions, 3-4 different mares).

END RESULT -- Wild, tiger striped coat with dorsal stripes and mohawk mane, 'tiger eyes' (blue or green eyes). Occasional breed discrepancies/allowances (no mohawk mane, no blue/green eyes).
