Re: Is she pearl?
I think it's actually impossible for her to be a perlino. Her mom was bay brown (Out of a buckskin Champange mare by a pearl stallion) so her mom is 100% to carry a pearl gene, if she had a cream and pearl it'd show up as a double dilute. Her dad is a pearl roan, so that's why I'm hopeful she's a pearl, but I don't know pearls well enough to say for certain 'yes this is a pearl'

Re: Is she pearl?

Re: Is she pearl?
I know what a Perlino looks like, but thank you for trying to help.
I went ahead and aged her a few months, out of her foal coat, so it's easier to see the difference between her and a Perlino.
The most she could be, to my current understanding, is a Cream/Pearl. But her mane is darkening so I think she is ging to be the color pearl her dad is. n.n

Re: Is she pearl?
Her dam is a brown buckskin; very obvious from her foal portrait, but as an adult you can tell because her light spots are more tan than brown.

Re: Is she pearl?
okay, so was her dams sire not an actual pearl if that is the case? Because shouldn't a pearl breed a pearl carrying horse?
Sorry for the line of questions, I had paid, I think, about 2k for a 'pearl' studding to get the dam. And then the foal in question.. Is her sire pearl at all? Is she a cream/pearl dilute? Or Cream cream?

Re: Is she pearl?
The sire also appears to be incorrectly identified: his dam (subject horse's granddam) is named "Pearl" but she's actually a cream-pearl (her own dam is a buckskin); his sire (subject horse's grandsire) also looks more perlino than anything elsejust looked through his foals; he's a cream-pearl. So the sire is probably some form of cream-pearl.
