The HWO Dressage Stud Registry - Application
About:
It can be very difficult to weed through the stud registry in order to find specific studs for a particular discipline. The HWO Dressage Stud Registry is an attempt to put a collection of studs with proven dressage histories or promising breeder's reports in order to help further the entire discipline of dressage.
The Registry consists of two posts - the application (this post) and the actual registry of approved studs which is linked below.
Please do not post to the registry thread.

It would be much more useful to require a minimum dressage score than a dressage title (easily manipulated and therefore useless) or green movement (still relatively scarce, and not enough to get competitive scores if tempo and balance are poor).

Also, does using other players' shows filled with untrained horses to get easy points fall under your rules for expulsion? http://www.horseworldonline.net/competi ... ?edition=1

Re: The HWO Dressage Stud Registry - Application
The current requirements are my best attempt at coming up with something that is both fair and easily verified, while I could have chosen to go with scores then comes the question of, if I'm only looking at highest scores is that an outlier in the horse's overall competition record? And if so then should it be an average of scores. If one goes with an average should it be a specific portion of the horses career(first however many shows? The entire thing?) And then does the person maintaining the registry have to verify that someone isn't just cherry picking the best scores given?Argent wrote:It would be much more useful to require a minimum dressage score than a dressage title (easily manipulated and therefore useless) or green movement (still relatively scarce, and not enough to get competitive scores if tempo and balance are poor).
Win percentage tends to help weed out most horses with manipulated scores unless they've only been entered into their own shows against lower level horses which is much more easily verified than scoring as it simply doesn't occur as often.
As for green movement, I chose this because it's what's most needed right now for most of us breeding for the discipline, tempo and balance are fairly easy to add back into a line.

To answer your question, I tend to not attribute to malice what can easily be explained by incompetence(or simply not paying attention.) I would find it unreasonable to expect everyone to check all entries to each show before entering a horse, so no.
To further expound, as this comes across as a passive aggressive attempt to 'call me out' for doing so, it was in fact, entirely accidental. I entered the horse in open dressage shows, your untrained test shows happened to be open at the time.
