Post by Yaris »

17-8-2015

Hello,

This is my first day at HWO and i decided that i want to breed quarter horses. My goal is to breed every horse breed that i need to get a quarter horse. It is a big goal but it also is a long term goal.

At the moment i am trying to breed a Akhal-Teke as the first step.

Everytime i have a new breed i wil update it here.

Hi Yaris, this is a big goal indeed! So you're planning on only using foundation horses to get your Quarter?

Hi nyraeia,

I try to only use my own horses and horses that i can adopt. As an example for an exmore pony (one of the horses i need to reach my goal) I adopted an Przewalski horse but because I needed an Tarpan as wel I used one of the stallions that were for stud, because it does not matter if i adopt one of use someone elses one. This is how i try to reach my goal.

I hope i have answerd your question

Today my first Akhal-Teke colt was born. I still need to look into the collors, so his coller will be unditerment for a while.

Also two mares are curently pregnent.
The combinations are : arabian x north african barb (second try for an arabian x north african barb)
Przewalski horse x Tarpan (try for an exmore)

I still have a long way to go, but where would the fun be if it whas easy.
