Pinging Baraduin regarding pearl
(Hope this works)Baranduin Brewster wrote: Pearls Post
Hi, you posted a 'pearl' Topic, and there was this one Apricot Champagne you had there, that looked exactly like one of mine and I'm pretty sure he has silver - as does yours (probably) when you go back 4 to 5 Generations... or does the mane always look so pure White when it's apricot?
I wanted to ask you because it Looks like you have a lot more experience with chestnuts and Pearl - and I struggle everytime it's in combination... -.-
This isn't meant to offend you, but i think it is better to ask cause the pearls are a tricky kind...
The twin/carbon copy of the apricot champagne of yours i meant:
Hyo Tetsu
yours:
Apricot Champagne

I thought it was black based at first myself, but the white mane/tail is the giveaway...All chestnuts (with cream) the mane/tail appear as white vs an off white.
We can also, reason it....
If it was bay based, I would expect points to be different color.
If brown, I would expect some sort of color in the warmspots.
If black, I would expect some trace of color to be in the mane/tail. Also, Silver would change the body color to red/yellow (for the lack of better color definition)
That leave Chestnut as the only option...
Also, every single foal he has produced is chestnut based (to the best of my knowledge), even the majority of foals they produced were chestnut based. It took a lot of effort to work bay into my Walkers.
Also, look into your dams parentage you find chestnut based horses.

Re: Pinging Baraduin regarding pearl
I agree, crossing the brown out was obvious, the legs seem a touch lighter but in my line the Agouti would've been less of an option... the black dillutes don't have mealy foals so that was less likely as well - so chestnut is the only one left indeed.Baranduin Brewster wrote:Nazarach wrote:quoted

The question was more intended to the silver option. It seemed to me that the white mane could've been silver originated, because Hyos sire was silver-originated and in yours it seemed possible the dams side also could've carried silver (in their Pictures the manes were rather short so it was hard to see); but how exactly do i differentiate a palomino (or other white-maned chestnut dillutes) from an palomino/e-dillute with silver?

I'm not understand the comparison with Palomino w/e-dillute with silver reference...Nazarach wrote:I agree, crossing the brown out was obvious, the legs seem a touch lighter but in my line the Agouti would've been less of an option... the black dillutes don't have mealy foals so that was less likely as well - so chestnut is the only one left indeed.Baranduin Brewster wrote:

Re: Pinging Baraduin regarding pearl
i mean does silver show if it is a dillute, normaly it doesn't but is there any way to know/see without breeding if they carry the silver at all?Baranduin Brewster wrote: I'm not understand the comparison with Palomino w/e-dillute with silver reference...

No the silver doesn't show, and yes you'd have to breed to see if the silver is carried. However there does seem to be a double silver in game indicator in the parents, so if that is the case then it would be possible to say it is carried.Nazarach wrote:i mean does silver show if it is a dillute, normaly it doesn't but is there any way to know/see without breeding if they carry the silver at all?Baranduin Brewster wrote: I'm not understand the comparison with Palomino w/e-dillute with silver reference...

Tell me about it, that might come around quick for myself, I do have a possible double Silver that I need to check for the pearl gene anyways, I might need to drag her on over.Nazarach wrote:figures, another one as a side Project *sigh*Baranduin Brewster wrote:
