When Do You Take Pictures?

Post by nyraeia »

So, these everchanging horse pictures make me a bit nervous - in other games, I love to save my horse's foal and adult picture to my computer to keep it forever even when the horse dies or - god beware - the game ends. That's not really possible here as the image generation is so dynamic.

I will take pictures of my foals (a headshot and a full-body picture) the day they're born and then again when they're a year old to see how their coat color changes with age. It's very convenient to look at how a horse's parents looked as foals and be able to compare these pictures to their offspring's.

Mostly, I try to take pictures on every birthday until the horse is four years old, but I don't remember every single horse. I will, however, update a stud's pictures more often until I consider them fully-grown looking to be able to give the potential customer a good luck at him.

How do you manage these things? Do you get as anxious about it as I do?

I take one about about a year old, a full body shot as soon as they look some what normal. Then I take one about 4 or 5yo, at least by then they would have grown into proportions and have grown any mane/tail/feather. Both full body shots, and then I don't think I've ever bothered to take any more pictures. Never taken head shots as they don't seem all that useful

I take pictures at 2 weeks (to avoid the butt high babies), 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 4 years, 6 years, and 10 years.
