To adopt horses generated by the game (no breed history) instead of buying with Money from the market from other players (adopted horses bought with PT might end up in the market for purchase with money). All horses in the game started this way when the game was new. More breeds will be available for purchase this way at a later date.

Pony Tokens can also be used to upgrade to a premium account (minimum 500). You can buy PT with real money from the store to use to upgrade your account or use for adopting. You can also get PT from doing local competitions.

So you might want to save your PT but that's up to you.

Pony Tokens are also used to buy some of the cosmetic items for your farms.
