actually it isn't a bad thing. you can host events and enter your own horses. you can actually make money from hosting events but I don't know of the break down on entry fee x how many people enter etc. I was told there is a chart somewhere for it. To host more than one event or an event at higher than lvl 1 you need to train in the competition management. I noticed that the more my horse wins and titles the higher the lvl event she is required to enter. I can't enter in lvl 1-5 now. so sometimes being able to make the event at the lvl you want will come in handy.Jasmine_Hanley wrote:
Thanks.I hope your horse(s) keep advancing and gaining titles. I’m thinking about starting to host events but you don’t make any money from it really soo I’m not sure

Yes true. I think I’d need to pick a more popular event and start with that. I did do some competition management when I first started the game and didn’t really know what it wasBabydluv81 wrote:actually it isn't a bad thing. you can host events and enter your own horses. you can actually make money from hosting events but I don't know of the break down on entry fee x how many people enter etc. I was told there is a chart somewhere for it. yeah. everyone is able to enter so as long as they are open to public like they are, it's fair game. I did see a few that seemed a little... ""tailered'". like stallion only ages 1-4 or mare only ages 2-5 per example. those sorts definitely seem a little... lopsided and bordering on what you're speaking on. those i think are indeed a bit unfairly made just to gain points to suite the creators desired horse. if they had just left it 1-4 or 2-7 and no gender or breed then it would have been a little different. could have imagined it more as an elite breeder event challenge or something.Jasmine_Hanley wrote:inflation

Yes there are some players that do things of that nature unfairly. There are always a lot of Trakehner comps and Estonian Native comps like this: http://www.horseworldonline.net/competitions/view/44149Babydluv81 wrote:yeah. everyone is able to enter so as long as they are open to public like they are, it's fair game. These competitions are very common because all of those breeder are super rich and they like the more elite type things because less people means a higher chance of winning. I’m pretty sure that the main purpose is more along the lines of promoting the breed though since those people that enter these are nice for the most part (and in my experiences).
I’m not really sure why people modify the ages though because it just seems like you’d get less competitors that way. That may be what they’re going for though.
I think the best pricing way would be for the entry fee to be half of the starting purse. This is because after four horses enter you’ll have your money back and the purse will be higher than it was in the first place. And of course horses of all breeds and ages.
