Budyonny
Information and Breeding
The Budyonny (bood-YAW-knee) is a warmblood sporthorse breed originating in the former USSR. Originally developed as an ideal mount for the cavalry during the Russian Revolution during the early 1900's, they have since progressed into a very hardy and versatile mount competing at higher levels in Dressage, Steeplechase, Showjumping, Eventing, and Endurance.
The path to Budyonnys is a long and arduous process but well worth it when the final result is a well built animal with a beautiful golden sheen and an inherent ability to bring you to the top in sporthorse disciplines. The guide below shows all the crosses needed to create the Budyonny breed.

an elegant type of horse with stamina and endurance beyond question and yet maintaining a calm, sensible temperament.
The Budyonny is known to perform well in dressage, cross-country and jumping. From the beginning they were developed through selection and grueling testing on the racetrack and on cavalry equitation courses. A horse of multiple talents emerged. Years later the need for the sport horse brought about the refined horse that we know today as the "golden horse." The inherited sheen appears on not just the stallions, but mares and geldings as well. They stand from 16h to 17h and are well balanced and compact. - Sterling Farms LLC

Re: Budyonny
I'm going for Norman Cobs and I see they're on your way!

Re: Budyonny
I'd someday love to get into percherons as they are my favorite draft breed
since you have to have a bit of them in there ;3 I thought I might just say a little something for future reference

Re: Budyonny
My main goal is the Welsh breeds (and to get those I need Welsh Mountain for starters) which I can see are needed for this breed c:

Re: Budyonny
Excellent, lots of crossovers with people! I'm getting my kabardas sorted and then I will be trudging my way to Russian Dons to start with.

Re: Budyonny
Budyonny is my goal too, but I'm just getting started. I need some good mares first.

Re: Budyonny
Wanna try Russian Dons. But it's long way to them @-@
