WHAT COLOR IS THIS??? I CAN'T TELL!!
Hi!!
I have this beautiful horse who is the foal of a wonderful horse I purchased who had the same coat, just more intense. i would really like to know the name of the coat color, for I have no idea. Snowy Pepper

If possible, I would also like to know which color horses to breed her to, so I can get more horses with the color.
Thanks!!

Re: WHAT COLOR IS THIS??? I CAN'T TELL!!
She is Sooty Perlino (bay + 2xcream w/ sooty). She will always through cream. So if bred to an undiluted horse her foals will always be buckskin (if bay-based), palomino (if red-based), smoky brown (if brown-based), or smoky black (if black-based). If bred to another double-cream the foal will always be perlino, cremello, brown cream, or smoky cream. The only way to guarantee a perlino foal from her is to breed her with a perlino, and even then it's not completely guaranteed. Your mare carries a recessive gene inherited from her red-based sire and therefore could throw a red-based foal, and because bay is dominant over brown and black is no way to know if brown or black genes are hiding underneath the bay without breeding.DragonHorse!!!! wrote:Hi!!
