How do I use a barn?

Can anyone help me?
I bought a barn and expand my farm.the barn is in the inventory but at edit my farm I can't add the barn! Is my farm still too small or why can't I add the barn? Please help me

What error message is it giving you? After you toggle build mode you should be able to click on "Add from Inventory" and then select the barn from your inventory,
